1982 Volvo Turbo
My first car, rebuilt from memory. Drive through the Alberta landscapes of my youth, swap CDs and drift back to a time when a full tank and a few friends were enough.

Back to Alberta
My first car was a 1982 Volvo Turbo. Growing up in Alberta, it took me across the prairies to skate parks in Edmonton, through winter nights delivering pizzas in Sherwood Park, and into the Rockies towards Jasper and Banff to go snowboarding. Sometimes I was just driving around, looking for friends and somewhere to hang out.
This experience is a way back into those memories. The rollerblades are packed for the skate park. The snowboard’s in the back for the mountains. There’s a stack of CDs to reach for when it’s time to change the music. Small details that bring back a whole feeling.
Before smartphones, constant notifications and the pressure to always be connected, there was a car, a few friends and time to spare. I used today’s tools to revisit that feeling: a little freedom, nowhere urgent to be, and a good song on the stereo.
Pick a CD. Take a drive. Stay a while.
